BICSI Winter Conference Inspires Attendees to Succeed
The BICSI organization hosted another successful conference earlier this month at the Gaylord Palms Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. While the idea of visiting Orlando during the month of January is very appealing, it’s the knowledge gained and the information exchanged between fellow information transport systems (ITS) experts that always draws a big number of attendees.
I attended the conference to work the Transition Networks tradeshow booth in the exhibit hall. As a professional industry trade association, BICSI gives my organization a great opportunity to say hello to many old friends and to introduce them to our newest products. “Networking” with Transition customers and distributors is one of my favorite things to do at a BICSI conference.
Another thing BICSI does a great job of is bringing in expert presenters and motivational speakers. Here is a short list of some of the presentations I found very interesting at the Winter Conference:
• On the Road to 100 Gigabit Ethernet Transmission
• Next Generation Application Challenges: Reducing Power and Latency
• Conquering F.E.A.R: A Simplified Approach to Data Center Layout and Design
• Premises Optical Trends
BICSI will soon be posting these presentations, along with all the other presentations made at the 2008 Winter Conference, on their web site. Also available on the BICSI site, are presentations from previous conferences. I think it’s great that BICSI makes this resource available to its members.
If you want to read BICSI’s own conference re-cap, you can do so on their site.
